Incubation

Incubation is a necessary and inherent part of the depth of any process that will produce change, reflection, and take into account the dynamics of life and living. From my own experience of the creative process, it is the phases of slowness, stillness, where the invisibly potent takes place. Here, one composts ides, gets under the tone, and nourishes the unknown, from which the depth and meaning of idea-creation emerges. The vivid grove offers a radical support process for incubation, CAVING, which nourishes our life, and CAVE FORMS, which nourishes a creative project, and idea, helps plant and seed and grow. Incubation is also something I have studied more in depth with Eleni Stecopoulos through her work with Greek mythology and sacred land, which has been quite powerful for helping to understand what cave forms found of its own. Incubation can be a "simple" act, and yet with the speed of Capitalism, it can be quite hard to access individually, one one's own, to slow down for. It is so very supportive to do facilitated and with others. When facing a moment of exhaustion, curiosity or seeming impossibility, one can always always slow down and rest, and see what comes from there.
