#HonorNativeLand / LANDBACK
The vivid grove respectfully acknowledges living, practicing, and working on the unceded, sacred, and stolen ancestral land of the Chochenyo Ohlone people, who have stewarded this land throughout the generations, land that is colonially known as California—East Bay. To acknowledge the native and indigenous lands is also inextricably to speak about the people, creatures, plants and life-ways that exist altogether in relation. This culture is in no way only rooted in the past, rather is a rich and vibrant part of present and future. Members of these indigenous lands are alive and shaping the communities of this place today. May the land be returned for rematriation and indigenous stewarding for generations to come. It is the commitment of the grove to share time well and in right relation, insofar as this is possible, in reverence and prayer for Landback. This is inextricably linked with abolition, reparations, and a new future now.
