Magic Markers is a name to speak about a gathering of artist / friend / colleagues who danced and wrote created ritual for several years on Ohlone Land, in different constellations. The artists include Alma Carmina Marquez, Bay Laurel, Emelia aka Jubilee July, Frances Rosario, mara madrona, and myself. There were movements by the bay, dancing within other performances, creation of rituals and conversations in response to performances, gatherings, van journeys, earth-based rituals by the ocean and more. Somehow, it grew out of the need for cultural and collective nourishment through shelter-in-place and, cultivating relations, deepening connections to earth, erotics, exploring right relation, and at foundation, nourishing life.
In one assemblage, margit brought together some of Magic Marker to perform as part of julie phelps' Radius project through Counterpulse at McEvoy Arts Gallery, SF.
