Embodied Mentorship and Creative Support

Margit works 1:1 in a co-exploration to support your health and embodiment, help cultivate your creativity and creative projects, and to nurture an engaged and vivid life. Together, we create an intentional field that supports your work, your practices & practicing, and your lived experience. The vivid grove view of success is based on a full picture – one that values interconnectedness, liberatory practice within the realities of racial Capitalism, and the many facets of a whole life.

In sessions, Margit supports you to create and articulate goals that clarify your purpose. Shx keeps the process grounded, offers resources, takes notes, helps track the arc of your inquiries over time, and engages with your concerns as they relate to a full life picture. The work can evolve as you do, and incorporates change as it emerges.

Mentorship sessions draw from Margit’s creative practices and years of in-depth study, teaching, and research in life movement: Qigong & Taoist healing arts, somatics, transdisciplinary arts, Feldenkrais & Awareness Through Movement, Amerta Movement, and a deep commitment to the practice of collective liberation. We can also draw from realms as diverse and useful as cultural study, Focusing, Tuning, writing and editing, cultural somatics and abolitionist political theories, Caving and Cave Arts, critical race studies, poetics, Human Design System, neurophenomenology, earth erotics, anti-oppression work, hxstorical aesthetics, Biogeometry, ancestral healing, disability justice, and group process technologies.

Some of the people who have worked with Margit include movement educators, students, artists, somatic and health practitioners, neurodivergent poets, professionals, dancers, ex-dancers, people with physical disabilities, teachers, QTBiPOC entrepreneurs, and queer folks who are looking to empower their life and work. Mentorship sessions are for anyone who wants to connect with their sources of embodiment, creativity, and health.

Sessions can take place regularly over time, or in bundles. Margit  currently offers a 6-session package as well. Margit’s practice is both online and live, and the online work can be supported through live sessions when we find ourselves in the same place. If you are interested in working with Margit, contact margit@vividgrove.org to book a session, or to schedule a free 20 minute conversation.

FAQ’s

How is this work different from therapy, coaching, or personal training?

I act as a facilitator and stimulator for your own process. Rather than approaching our session with an intention to fix or make better, I offer guidance and support for you to access your own truth. This work is embedded in disability justice culture and collective liberation. It works outside of models of self-help or fitness culture as determined through hetero-patriarchal supremacy, and instead offers an expansive yet specific container to help you listen to yourself and grow. The work we do together is both rigorous and accessible, responsive to your unfolding lived experience.

How do we work together online?

When we meet for sessions online, there is a richness that comes from being in your own home, and in the context of your daily life. You have the freedom to move about your own space and enliven your environment. Online sessions can support titrating presence when it feels challenging to sink into your body for any reason - whether emotional or physical, or simply from the busyness and overwhelm of daily life. We give primacy to your felt sense. When we work together online, video and audio recordings are available for you to re-visit, which clients have found very supportive to their process. I’ve found that a different kind of intimacy and collaboration can emerge through meeting online, as we build something together that enriches through time.

How might this work manifest in your life?

The forms and ways of working I offer can be applied in all sorts of contexts – liberation work, farming, group organizing, creative and aesthetic process – and in support of all of life. At its core, my work stays with the source of creation. It offers itself for a multitude of contexts and life practices. Creative embodied mentorship can affect your physical, creative, emotional, work and artistic life experience.

What else do I offer?

The mentorship sessions are held in a constellation of practice, research, and offerings. I teach a wide variety of offerings, including a Qigong Program, classes, and mentorship; a year-long movement teacher training; arts and movement workshops; and embodied research programs. I am an artist and cultural worker, and the ethics of collective co-creation is central in all my offerings. My work is informed by the elements, cultural contexts, and environment, and I offer practices that are supported through place and context. I also facilitate group somatic movement trainings, transfer trainings in physical care worker settings, movement trainings in non-profit and collective settings and more. My trainings aim to create a context where groups can grow something together beyond just the training, with a sense of agency, empowerment, shared communication and play.

Testimonials

I reached out to Margit when I was experiencing overwhelming stuckness in my creative and personal practices. I wish I had done it sooner: their dynamic way of working makes so much possible. Margit’s dexterity with the forces of the earth and the forces of the psyche is special: in a session with them it often feels like each element is present and in concert. They are sensitive to the gifts and the struggles that come alongside neurodiversity, and are a great ally in tuning behavior and attention.

- Frank, artist and mentorship client

I sat for a few minutes after we signed off and immediately felt more balanced all around. I walked around the yard a bit and felt the holding that was in my right hip/quad/ankle had softened. Your tone and pacing was comforting, relaxing, supportive. I continue to be amazed at the amount of connection I can sense through the screen.

-Olivia, movement educator

I have been lucky enough to be in an on-going mentor relationship with margit for several years. It has been life changing for me personally and professionally and I look forward to many more years of study with her. Put simply, margit is able hold the space for you as a whole person. Whether or not you are in an FI session, an ATM class, a chi gong class environment, or a more intimate mentoring situation, margit's open-hearted nature and compassionate teaching allows for a deeply profound exploration of ourselves, our whole selves, our complete bodymind. The amount of information she is able to communicate with her hands sets her apart as one of the most gifted teachers I've come across. If you have the chance, please give yourself the gift of taking sessions with margit. The knowledge acquired, whether conscious or unconscious, will last you a lifetime.
