Support for your ideas, projects and evolution

As a dramaturg for artistic projects, Margit brings experience working with a range of professional and nonprofessional artists in many phases of creative process – from connecting with your own creative vision, to honing and cultivating evening-length work, developing the seed of a project, or entering into a new creative process. Sessions are grounded in your inquiries - both for the project and how it relates to the expanse of your creative life, and we begin by clarifying how we’ll work together to best support you. Margit’s decades of experience in dance-making, improvisation, movement arts research and practice offers a rich toolbox as the basis for this shared investigation. Shx draws from hir experiences as a dramaturg, curator and lifelong art viewer with a strong sense of aesthetics to help you stay rooted in your own creative vision and evolution.

Based on what’s desired, Margit offers prompts, practices, resources, analysis, perspectives on cultural and artistic context, and engages you in generative critique to stay with the source and intention of your work. Personalized sessions are designed to meet your specific needs as you hone your vision, utilizing all the tools of the vivid grove. Margit will research ideas and materials that emerge in a way that can profoundly support your work. Margit may attend rehearsals and offer aesthetic, structural, or practical support, or meet you in the park for a creative movement practice, or online. They will help you define materials through writing, drawing, and tend to the invisible aspects of your work to help you get to the heart of your vision.

Projects that Margit has supported range from ritual performance, proscenium performance, community projects and collective experiments to visual arts, programming, writings on embodied practice and performance, programming and pedagogy. Artists such as Miguel Gutierrez, estrellx supernova, dia dear, Ryder Cooley, Seth Eisen / Eye Zen Presents, Abby Crain, plant drag (bae laurel and carmina/nahualle), Nicole Shaeffer, Hana van der Kolk, Keith Hennessy, Laressa Dickey, and Macklin Kowal have worked with Margit as a dramaturg.
