seeds 2016 is an interdisciplinary arts and ecology festival gathering artists, community activists, scientists, spiritual leaders, permaculture practitioners, and more for ten days at Earthdance. Through workshops, residencies, discussions, performances and artistic investigations, SEEDS aims to explore the potent space of art, allyship, movement practice, and ecology. By working with the connections between environmental racism, intersectional oppressions, power/territory, and privilege, SEEDS makes space for multiple voices and forms of participation while creating a space for embodied intelligence and collective inquiry.

SEEDS | Earthdance is a long-term project that has been influenced by and interacted with the many who tended, organized, curated, participated, taught, and produced it. It was founded in 2008 by Margit Galanter, Co-Director of Earthdance 2006-2009 and Olive Bieringa of the BodyCartography Project, in partnership with with Earthdance. SEEDS FESTIVAL extends scientific earth inquiry, using experiential and embodied research - inviting contemplative practices, somatic research, social justice, live dialogue and creative research into the ground of the conversation. SEEDS invites the coexistence of radical thinking, embodied thinking, hermetic thinking, rational thinking, and inclusive thinking -- and acknowledges that all thinking is a physical act. Co-Instigators 2016: Olive Bieringa, Melinda Buckwalter, Chris Galanis, Hana van der Kolk, Will Shields, Jason Comcowich, Margit Galanter, + Earthdance Staff.
